This feature is in a limited canary. Creating a plan and PAUSED/DRAFT objects does not start ad spend; activation is confirmed separately.
What is Ads?
Paid multichannel advertising
Ads helps plan advertising for the currently available Meta, Google Search, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok channels selected by the user from one Gunvald workspace.
Before creating a plan, select only the channels where you want to advertise. Enter the exact total budget, allocations for the selected channels, duration, landing page, and assets. Review the provider-specific variants, ad accounts, and identities before approving one immutable plan.
Creating multichannel ads
Paid Ads connections
For each selected channel, connect an available ad account and any required publisher identity:
- Open the "Ads" tab in your workspace
- Connect the required Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or TikTok Ads provider when its connection card is available
- Sign in to the provider and grant only the paid Ads permissions shown
- Select an EUR ad account and the required Page, organisation, or other publisher identity
- Check role, scope, billing, currency, and time-zone readiness on the connection card before planning
Paid Ads connections are separate from organic publishing connections. Disconnecting prevents new Gunvald actions but does not automatically pause, delete, or otherwise change objects already held by the provider.
Open AdsChannels, accounts, and budget
Select only the channels included in the campaign and check the details for each selected channel:
- Ad account: Choose a ready EUR ad account for every selected channel
- Identity: Choose the Page, organisation, or publisher identity required by the channel
- Budget: Allocate the total only across selected channels; allocations must add up exactly
- Assets: Attach the image, video, logo, copy, and link assets required by each selected channel
The initial multichannel release supports EUR ad accounts, the Traffic objective, Finland targeting, and Finnish or English variants. Selecting a channel does not bypass provider-access or rollout gates.
Campaign creation
Create and approve a multichannel plan in the Ads V2 workspace:
- Open "Ads" and the multichannel workspace
- Select one or more advertising channels and ready ad accounts
- Enter the brief, total budget, channel allocations, duration, identities, content, and assets
- Click "Luo ja käännä kanavaversiot" (Create and compile channel variants) only when the selected channels are ready
- Review the compiled provider variants, targeting, schedule, rights, and EU/DSA details
- Approve the exact plan version and request PAUSED, inactive, or DRAFT creation only for available lanes
Each selected provider creates its own remote-object graph independently, and Gunvald reads it back before proceeding. Creation does not itself start media spend. Activation is a separate, explicit, version-bound, provider-gated confirmation; during a canary it may be completed in the provider's own management interface.
Managing campaigns
Campaign tracking
The campaign list shows the state stored in Gunvald and synchronized figures when available:
- Provider status: The latest verified state for the selected channel and its remote objects
- Impressions: The normalized number of impressions reported by the provider
- Clicks: The normalized number of clicks reported by the provider
- Spend: The spend reported by the provider for the selected period
- Audit trail: Approval, execution, readback, and reconciliation events
Figures are provider-reported and are not Gunvald's own attribution measurement. If readback or insight synchronization is stale or action is required, confirm the current state in that provider's management interface.
Managing a created campaign
The actions available in Gunvald depend on the provider's access tier and rollout gates:
- Change the plan: Before provider creation, create a new immutable version. Once an execution manifest exists, the campaign set remains immutable for audit and the change must be a new campaign mandate. Always approve its budgets, assets, and provider variants again.
- Activate: Activate only through a separate explicit confirmation after every selected channel is verified PAUSED or DRAFT
- Pause: Request pause and verify readback; an uncertain result remains action required
- Delete: Delete a provider campaign in the provider's own management interface
Disconnecting Ads prevents new Gunvald actions but does not change provider remote objects. After an uncertain provider response, fail-closed reconciliation may read and match objects, but it never activates them or blindly creates a replacement.
Common issues
OAuth connection fails
If the OAuth connection fails:
- Make sure you are signed in as the intended user at the correct provider
- Check that you have the required role for the selected ad account and publisher identity
- Make sure the ad account, billing, token, and provider access are current
- Try again or contact support
The campaign is not created in PAUSED or DRAFT status
If safe creation does not start or finish:
- Check connection, account, identity, and asset readiness for every selected channel
- Make sure channel allocations add up exactly to the total budget
- Check that the current plan version is approved and the provider gate is available
- Do not retry blindly when the state is outcome unknown or reconciliation required; contact support
Performance data is not updating
If performance data is not updating:
- Check whether insight synchronization is complete or the channel requires action
- Refresh the page and check again
- Check the campaign in that provider's own management interface
- Contact support if the issue continues
